Banner Maker expectations

Because every banner is personalized and connected to a specific child, here's exactly what happens after you sign up.

Please expect a wait

  • Requests are matched with volunteers based on the child's needs, design, location, and current volunteer count.
  • You may not receive an assignment immediately after signing up.
  • Some requests are fulfilled quickly, while others take longer.

Shipping may be required

  • Depending on your location, you may be asked to ship your completed banner to Brighter Days Banners or an approved destination.
  • If shipping is required, we'll send instructions before you begin.
  • Please do not mail a banner anywhere until you receive shipping instructions from us.

Banner size

  • Standard size: 18" × 24".
  • Acceptable range: 16" × 20" to 24" × 36".
  • Please don't create a banner outside these dimensions unless you've received approval.

Design requirements

  • Personalized for the assigned child, using their requested colors and interests when possible.
  • Large, easy-to-read lettering; positive and encouraging; clean and neatly finished.
  • No glitter or loose materials that may shed, and nothing that could create a safety concern.

Before you start

  • You'll receive the child's approved banner information and design guidelines before beginning.
  • Your assignment will tell you where to send it, your deadline, how to ship or drop off, and any special instructions.
  • If you can't complete your assignment by the deadline, please contact us as soon as possible.
